A case file on Lang Tombong Tamba opened- Report says the coupists are still in active service-Lamarana Jallow!

By Lamarana Jallow, son of the Gambia

Dear Mr. Editor,

There was this classified file I read today, while in my office. I was alarmed by the content of the report, which is yet to be declassified. The report suggests that there are mutineers still at the State House and the GAF Head Quarters. The report also hinted that the real March coup plotters were still in active duty. The preliminary report although advised that the suspected officers be monitored while the investigations continued.
The President , acted based on the said report to free Vincent Jatta and Baba Sarho. Foday Barry, Abdoulie Kujabi and others would be released later on based on the content of the report I read. There is no evidence linking them to treason. The coupists are here providing security to the President.

Recent reports filed by Bufaaleh and Horomsi on the Freedom Newspaper, regarding the March coup was a subject of review by the agency. Lang Tombong Tamba had two options. One, to leave the country or to resign gracefully. Two, he should clear his name because the classified file I read today, linked him with Ndure Cham.

A special task force from the NIA were detailed to secretly probe Lang’s phone records at GAMTEL, GAMCEL AND AFRICELL. There are other senior military officials whose phone records were being reviewed at this hour. Peter Singhateh and Masaneh Kinteh happened to be one of those officers. The President is now convinced that the March coup was a well coordinated one and as such he is not taking chances at all. The outcome of the said investigations would come as a surprise to Gambians. These suspected officers might as well be framed by the state. Just watch out!!!

There are certain individuals assigned at GAMCEL, AFRICELL AND GAMTEL to compile the phone records of these suspected officers. Ndure Cham spoke to the Lang Tombong Tamba on the night of the coup based on the phone records before our desk. Lang calling Jammeh to report the coup is another thing, but the phone records currently being scrutinized suggests that there was line of communication between Cham and Tamba. What they discussed or agreed is not yet clear, but the phone records speaks for itself.

If Daba Marena was allowed to resume work at the NIA, Lang was going to be arrested. Jammeh acted on scanty intelligence fabricated by Lang, Sonko, Musa Jammeh and few “jolla boys” at the agency to kill Daba, Lowe and others. These people were killed to discredit any form of evidence that might implicate the real coupists.

I was with the President during his Mauritania visit. I know what transpired.
He confided with me in private regarding security issues. I also heard Daba’s reaction when news of the coup reached him.

Security threat against Gambia!

Ndure Cham’s silence is worrying Jammeh. As a senior officer here at the State House, I have access to many units within the palace. My first line of duty in the morning is to ensure that soldiers are briefed about happenings in other barracks, take care of their logistics and the President’s daily program schedules. I took part on the assignment of advance parties and their respective roles. I represent my unit at the National Security Meeting. I also have the list of close protection officers (CPO) attached to the President. For security reasons, I would refrain from releasing the list online.

During a meeting with the President, a security alert was brought to our attention about Cham’s determination to take over the country. He accuses President Wade of backing Cham and his group. Some former service men have been recalled to help defend the country should Cham and his men invade the country. The MFDC rebel wing headed by Salif Sarjo have also offered to extend security help to the Gambia. Sarjo visits the President regularly. Most of their meetings took place at Kanilai.

AU Summit

The President was advised not to attend the Summit for Security reasons. The army’s loyalty has been questioned. In my next report I would comment on the Ghanaian killings, First Lady Tuti Faal’s relationship with Ndeneh Faal, Yankuba Touray’s role in the said relaionship and a lot more. Stay tuned. Arbaraka, Bandirabeh. Hackudenalla heckawellaye.
