Breaking News:Yahya Jammeh boycotts Ghana AU Meeting! rumors of Coup and counter coups

Gambia’s President Yahya Jammeh has been advised not to attend the AU Summit currently underway in the Ghanaian Capital Accra. There are rumors of coup and counter coups going on the country, as we file this report. Jammeh’s intelligence chief has advised Jammeh not to leave the country for the security reasons. The country’s security situation is fragile, according to well placed state house sources. President Jammeh’s Ghana’s trip was cancelled not because of the proposed showdown action to condemn the 44 Ghanaians that were killed in the Gambia, in 2004, but due to internal security problems. “He was told that his return cannot be guaranteed if he leaves the country. The NIA report suggested there is an imminent security threat.”

State House insiders say the Gambian leader has been advised to cancel all future trips until such a time that the country’s peace and stability was guaranteed. Reports have it that the army was divided and as such the loyalty of the GNA top brass was a cause for concern to the corridors of power. Faced by growing unpopularity, the Gambian leader is also accusing his neighbors Senegal of recruiting dissidents to unseat his government. “The President got the impression that once he leaves the country he would not return back. He is very panic.”
