Following the recent Gambia Police Force (GPF) 'bias recruitment' by only those loyal to President Yahya Jammeh and APRC Government, the GPF is also about to conduct what is described as the 'worst ever' selection method by setting priority of choice and training to July 22nd Movement Members commonly known as the 'Green Boys`. According to State House sources, this selection has shaken the Armed Forces and other security forces across the country, because many Gambians consider the ` Green boys` as mere "propaganda and phony" individuals who have no regard to the rule of law.
Sources who spoke to the Freedom Newspaper has accused President Jammeh of creating ethnic discrimination by accepting most of these men on tribal line and not professionalism. 'Other individuals working within the security forces such as the Army, Police, Immigration, Fire Service and National Intelligent Agency (NIA) must understand with caution that they are monitored'.
The officer insisted that such selection criterion should have not been allowed to happened for the simple reason that the Green Boys are 'human right violators' and must not be encouraged in the Army or any other security force. He accused the Green Boys of spreading fear and alarm within the circles of the security services and even executive including rumor and gossip of coup and rebellion.
